With the fusion between Bovespa Holding and the BM&F (Commodities and financial Derivatives Market), Brazil will have the second largest Stock Exchange of the American Continent, with a market value of US$ 18 billion, only behind the Chicago Mercantile, in the United States, with a value of US$ 27,68 billion.
Inflation has been controlled. In 1995, it was 22% per year and in 2007 4, 5%.
One of the pillars which sustains the optimism of businessmen is the increase in credit. In 2002, credit represented 22% of the GNP, while in 2007 it grew to 35%, com estimated values of US$ 581, 2 billions.

Sector Information
According to Abinee, the Brazilian Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industry, the turnover of the sector grew 11% in 2008 compared to 2007, with a total of R$ 123,7 billion. With the expectation of inflation for the sector close to zero, nominal and real growth will be equal this year.
The significant economic growth of the country which in 2008, should be close to 5, 4% sustained by the investments and the increase in consumption, forming the base for the good performance of the industry.
The sector felt the positive effects of PAC – Programme for the Acceleration of Growth -, following the investments in civil construction, sanitation, the infrastructure for electrical power and actions to spread informatics technology.
Exports
Exports of electrical and electronic products grew 11% in 2008, increasing from US$ 9, 3 billion, in 2007, to US$ 10, 3 billion.
Imports
Imports of electrical and electronic products this year should reach US$ 33, 7 billion, passing the previous year by 40%.
Perspectives for 2009
The projections for the growth of the GDP in Brazil in 2009 are around 3, 0%. Considering the country’s history of growth over the last 30 years, it is a significant performance.
The trajectory of growth for the industry has accompanied the development of the country, and this allows us to forecast an evolution of 7%, confirming the 3% prevision of growth for the national economy.
